What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is an FDA-approved product injected under the skin and into the muscles of your face to temporarily improve wrinkles associated with movement of the face. It targets the muscles associated with repeated contractions from frowning, squinting, smiling and raising your eyebrows over the years of expression. The injection minimizes the muscle activity temporarily, so that these movements do not occur, reducing the amount of wrinkles created. This will make your wrinkles look better and your face look younger!

What areas can be treated?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is indicated in adult patients for the temporary improvement in the appearance of:

-Moderate to severe glabellar lines (“#11 lines” in between your eyebrows)

-Moderate to severe lateral canthal lines (“crow’s feet”)

-Moderate to severe forehead lines

Will I see results quickly? How long does BOTOX® Cosmetic last?

You may begin to see results within 24-48 hours of the injections, with the full results noticed in 30 days. Your results will last 3-4 months, so we do recommend repeating injections 3- 4 times per year for the best results. Remember that results may vary from patient to patient.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects, though rare, may include eyelid or brow drooping, swelling, redness, discomfort at injection sites, dry mouth, headache, vision changes and allergic reactions. This is not an all-inclusive list, however, all side effects will be discussed in detail at your appointment.
